Our Procedure

At Summit Inc. we want everything to run as smooth as possible. Please review the following steps prior to your first visit or any time you may need a refresher.

Check-In

  1. Pull into the yard in front of the office. If someone is already waiting, please pull up behind them and wait your turn.

  2. Wait for the Check-In Clerk to come to you to get your information. If you have never been here before, please have your ID ready. If you have a car, please have all of the paperwork ready.

  3. If you have been here before, give the Check-In Clerk your customer number.

  4. When the Check-In Clerk tells you you’re good to go, you may proceed to the scale.

The Scales

  1. Pull onto the rightmost scale until you’re about in the middle of the scale.

  2. Wait until the Scale Master gives you the thumbs up.

  3. Once you have the thumbs up, you may proceed to the back.

  4. After dumping your material or dropping the vehicle, you will pull onto the rightmost scale again (like you’re driving on the road.

  5. Pull into the middle of the scale.

  6. The Scale Master will drop your scale ticket down to you in a white 5-gallon bucket.

  7. You may step off the scale to grab your ticket when the bucket gets dropped.

  8. After grabbing your ticket, pull into the driveway out of the way of other vehicles, and bring your ticket to the office pay window.

The Back

  • The Check-In Clerk will direct you on where to go while you are being checked in.

  • If you have a car, you will proceed to the pad after getting off the inbound scale.

  • If you have heavy iron, you will proceed to the iron pile.

  • If you have sheet iron, you will proceed to the sheet iron pile.

  • If you have non-ferrous materials, you will NOT go to the big scales, but instead you will be directed to the copper garage.
